About this design
A crossover-less single-driver desktop/bookshelf speaker using the 5" Tang Band W5-1611SAF full-range. 12 L vented and tuned to 55 Hz extends the bottom end without a crossover to colour the midrange (the W5's EBP ~115 favours a ported alignment). Single-driver designs trade ultimate output and dispersion for coherence; great near-field. No crossover means no baffle-step circuit — expect a slightly forward balance close up.
